Do you think having sparkling usernames on a forum is unprofessional? Why or why not?
I don't think it is if you have a general discussion forum or something that isn't too serious. If you're trying to look professional, it wouldn't be that good.

Sparkling and animated ones are too cheesy for my liking personally. I find them sorta annoying even in general fun based forums.

If it's a gaming forum to which the game has also sparkles, then why not? It'd look appropriate for me. However, in forums with serious niche or so, it'd look funny.

I'd agree with the above post. If the sparkles has something to do with the forum niche, then it'd be okay. If it isn't, then it'll look funny.

I agree with you, Allena. It depends on the niche` of the forum. If you have a general discussion type forum, then I don't really see a problem with members requesting it. But if it's a support forum for people requesting help with computers (or something of that nature), then I would refrain from using it.

I agree, based on niche. I have a pretty cure forum and 'pretty cure' is a kids' to early teens' anime. The whole metaseries is full of transformations and sparkles, so yeah I have it.
